VMware is committed to Hyperic. With any acquisition--and this was a double acquisition since Hyperic was acquired by SpringSource first--there will be a settling period as the new company and its offerings are rebranded, code and people are integrated and the product is made part of the broader picture.
The VMware picture is pretty big and it may make Hyperic's role seem small, but every IT environment needs operational insight, monitoring and management. To that end, VMware not only has vFabric Hyperic but recently added Integrien to broaden that aspect of the product portfolio.
