Installation Help Request (Sever 2K3)

Hey Guys,

I'm trying out Hyperic on network and hit a snag right away.

It asks for an installation path, but the instructions don't say what it should be, or even if it matters which machine in the network runs the service.

Where should it go and how do I input the location? c:/program files didn't work. Then it says something about an SMTP server.... The official directions didn't help at all. Should I install it on any particular machine in my network?

Has a user created instructions (for MS Server 2K3) in plain english?

To install it helps to first create a directory where the server is going to go, say "c:\hyperic".

Then when prompted for a location during the install process choose that directory.

If you don't have an SMTP server available you can put anything in there (bogus-smtp.example.com) and then edit the configuration later when you have an SMTP server you can use. In the mean time, however, you will not be able to send out email alerts for Hyperic HQ.
