Hi Mike,

You can only define a group alert for a compatible group, that is a group whose members are all of the same resource type. This is a function of the fact that the members of a mixed groups don't have a common metric template. Is there a reason you've defined a mixed as opposed to a compatible group?

Yes, I had choosen 3 linux and 3 Solaris systems to run a test for.. But I see that
only the same type platform can be used in a group,, AND since Im using the open source , you can create a group(whether compabitable or not) , but there is NO way to create an alert for a group(same platform etc on open source Hyperic.

THanks for answering the question and spending time on it.

the next thing I going to try is create an alert from command line hyperic and push it to all the servers. Dont
know yet how to do that
