I ran into a scenario yesterday where an existing HTTP service was interfering with the system it was monitoring. I needed to be able to disable the entire monitor, not just the alerts, to prevent it from accessing the web site. I assume if I had highlighted all of the metrics and Disabled the collection that the monitor was in essence disabled or stopped. The problem there is that I loose all of my custom metric collection times and must document any non-default metrics that I was using. This can get real tricky with other types of monitor types where they can over 30 different collection metrics. What is the best way to go about completely disabling the different element types: platform, server, services. etc..?
It would be great if there was a "Disable Element" option under the tools option for each type of element. That way I could disable at the platform level or more granularly at the service level. Thanks!
