How possible is it to keep detailed metric information in an external db?
Sorry for the cross post (See my tacked on question in http://communities.vmware.com/thread/348335), but I figured starting a new thread was a quicker way to get my question answered.
I am interested in making sure that detailed metric data is copied / replicated to some external database. The thread mentioned above talks about that. What I want to know is if its possible to run the server on top of this external database for the purpose of showing metrics. What is involved in getting this working? What are the problems with such an approach?
