How do I disable hhtp access to hqadmin?

I have installed Hyperic 3.0.3 and have it listening on both http and https. I have a security requirement to not have any passwords sent in the clear on the wire. Therefore I want to disable the http listen port. I assume this is possible via a change to hq-server.conf, however I cannot find documentation for this.

Thanks . . . Murray

You will actually have to comment out the following connector in conf/
templates/server.xml:

And then restart the server to deploy the new configuration.

Should you also comment out port 7080 from server.conf as well??? I am in the process of trying to disable port 7080. We only want https and only want to use that.

I'm not sure, but will disabling port 7080 cause problems with your agents communicating with the server? What port do you have your agents communicating with the server on?

Hi Brian,

during Agent setup you can decide if you want use SSL. If you say yes, then all communication between Agent and HQ server is on port 7443. This is a https-port.
