HQ Server with mysql

Newbie question. Has anyone been able to install and run HQ Server backended by a mysql database instead of a postgres db? I am very interested in this product and would like to determine the backend options.

Thanks in advance.

HQ Server is only supported on Oracle and PostgreSQL at the moment.
Support for a MySQL backend may come in a future version.

MySQL is not currently one of the officially supported databases for
HQ Server. Most of the plumbing is in place, but we are aware of
issues trying to run a MySQL backend. However, MySQL support is
pretty high up on our list, and we are working with MySQL experts to
properly support it. We will make an announcement whenever that
becomes available, which will hopefully be very soon.

MySQL support is currently experimental and is only available when building HQ from source. It works fairly well, but there are some outstanding issues that forced us to not include it as an option in our installer. From our JIRA:

http://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-142
http://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-144
http://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-143

We hope to reinstate support for MySQL 5 in a later 2.7.x release.
