HQ Dashboard Port Changed...

Hi everyone,

I was able to successfully install and run Hyperic servers and agents on two VMs that I'm running and they auto detected everything I needed them to and I was messing around with them for the last 24 hours or so.

I was trying to set up an alert to test out the e-mail functionality of it so I got the alert set up and then changed my hqadmin's e-mail address to my own. My dashboard on the web GUI was showing the alert when the proper condition was met but I wasn't receiving any e-mails. I checked my VM's mail and it was telling me that it was having errors sending the mail but it was still trying to mail the default hqadmin e-mail address so I reset my VM in hopes that it would pick up the hqadmin e-mail address change I made on the dashboard online.

After I reset my VM I restarted the Hyperic server and then the agent but now I can't get back into the web GUI. I keep getting a "Unable to connect... [browser] can't establish a connection to the server at [my_IP_address]:[port]"

As I said before, I was using the web GUI for the past day, no problems. Now I can only log into the web GUI using the default port (7080) but it's empty and isn't auto-detecting anything. Any ideas as to why the port suddenly changed back to default after I reset my VM and how I can go about getting it back to the port I set upon installation so I can log back into the web GUI?

Much Appreciated,
Mark

UPDATE: I restarted the Hyperic server and sudo restarted the Hyperic agent under a different user (other than root) on the VM and it seems to be working properly under the correct port again...

Restart Hyperic server and agent (I had to use "sudo" to restart agent) from a user other than 'root' on VM.
