EE - Subscriber - Monitoring Sun JVM 1.5.0_12
I am trying to monitor multiple JVM's (running under Jboss). They are all 1.5.0_12 and are each running on a different port.
I am able to connect to each remotely via jconsole.
We have the Jboss run.sh scripted to assign a unique jmxremote.port for each instance we are running via the "JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=xxxxxx" parameter, we are of course also passing the JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false" and JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false" parameters as well.
As I said jconsole works both remotely and on the local server.
The agent.log is throwing errors when I create a new Sun JVM 1.5 Server. Here are the steps I am taking to setup the server followed by the errors immediately written to the log.
1. Create New Server
2. Name: Server_JVM_21002
3. Server Type: Sun JVM 1.5
4. Install Path: /usr/local/java
4. Configure Server
5. service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://localhost:xxxxx/jmxrmi
6. remove "system" as the jmx.username (as we are using authentication=false
7. Save (no errors thrown in the gui)
I have also done a second server for the second JVM on this server - this time I specified a address (instead of localhost) - same result.
