DB2 support

I need to monitor log file free space. I would like to be alerted when it reaches 20% free space. Is anyone doing this? If so how are you doing it. I know that you can get this info from a select command. Is there a way to setup a metric that has a select value in it?

Thank you in advance,

Eddie.

Hi,

if you know the query and if you are only interested in that metric it is pretty easy, by deploying an SQL Query server:
http://support.hyperic.com/display/hypcomm/SQL+Query+server

Basically the SQL Query server is initiating a JDBC connection, running the given SQL query and then you can evaluate the return metric/value of the SQL query.
You probably need to copy the DB2 jdbc driver to the Agent, that runs the query.
If you need more metrics by SQL queries, you will have to write your own plugin. Check out the documentation

Cheers,
Mirko
