My company is currently evaluating Hyperic to be used as a monitoring tools to monitor our application. We have managed to create a small plugin to do a demo on how it works but we are more interested to use it as a end-to-end business process monitoring tool (if all at that is possible ?).
What we are trying to do is to create/extend HQ to monitor our business process activity, for example we have the following workflow that we want to monitor (would love if somebody can give an idea on how to implement this in HQ ?)
Files received from partner -> data processed in middleware -> data send to event manager -> data processed in event manager -> data posted into database -> process completed
With the above workflow the business user will be able to see or monitor what's going on with the workflow and what is the state of the current data.
Can anybody shed some light whether this is possible ? let me know if what I'm saying is not clear and will try to be more detail.
