Configuring Oracle...

Hi,

Got Hyperic to detect my Oracle instance, and went to configure it and I keep getting this:
The configuration has not been set for this resource due to : Invalid configuration: Error retrieving value: Query failed for CPUUsage: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist

I have applied the grants in the documentation, but I assume it's looking for a table somewhere, any tips what it's looking for ?

(PS. Oracle 9.2.0)

Does the user you configured have permission to select any dictionary? Most of the values we collect come from the V$ tables.

The docs have some info on how to grant this permission.

Thanks,

I did follow the instructions, and granted SELECT ANY DICTIONARY ... but still no go.

I just granted SELECT ANY TABLE and it looks like that did the trick.

... It would be nice if the doco included a query like SELECT x FROM y WHERE z
.. to validate the the correct grants had been assigned.

Thanks.
Tim.

Great news Tim, glad you got it working. I agree the error message is a bit cryptic, I have opened up http://jira.hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-882 to address this problem for the 3.1 release.

Thanks,
