I love this hyperic, its a great way to monitor multiple jvms across the network. However, I have 1 frustration where I am not sure how to tackle except 1 resource at a time.
We have over 100-200 instances of tomcat across multiple servers. When hyperic discovers them, it labels the resource as host.serverhostname.net Apache Tomcat 5.5 (different hostname depending on server). So for one server, theres about 20 to 30 of them with the same name. There is no way for us to see what resource we are viewing unless we go into Inventory tab to see which domain it belongs to. We could go through each one and set the name to be domain.com Apache Tomcat 5.5, but thats a time consuming process.
Any suggestions?
