Automatic collection of windows services

We have cacti running at present, which I know uses SNMP to collect data. It does however have the ability through its built in xml scripting to do a query on specific IOD.

Anyway it can give you a list of all services on a machine, so that you can collect data on them and then monitor if the services goes down, very useful.

I understand from reading the documentation that you can add vbscripts to the plugins, but is there any functionality in or planned for hyperic agents to bring back a list of services, so that they can be monitored.

Cheers

HQ can manage Windows services, but currently they must be defined
manually:
From the Platform view, click "New Platform Service" and select
"Windows Service" from the drop-down.
We could add an option to auto-discover all services, but if you are
just looking to monitor a select set of services this is the way to go.
