We have configured an alert on a log file that is managed by a ‘RollingFileAppender’.
Searching this forum it appears that by default log polling is done every 1 Min.
Theoretically there is a slight chance of missing alerts with the following scenario:
11:59:09 Hyperic polls the log file
11:59:10 An error event is added to the log file
12:00:00 The ‘RollingFileAppender’ rename the active log file (to the backup log file) and create a new one
12:00:09 Hyperic polls the newly created log file
Any thoughts / suggestions on the above will be greatly appreciated.
