VCM Collection on vCenter Appliance

How do you do a collection on a vCenter Appliance, as opposed to a Windows vCenter Server?

OK, then you follow the same process for a Windows vCenter and vCenter Appliance.  You need to set up a Managing Agent on a Windows server, that will do the collection for your virtual environment.

See Chapter 3 of the vCM admin guide for details and architecture diagram...

The managing agent talks to the vSphere API, so the setup is the same.

Unless you are talking about doing a collection against the vCenter Appliance OS?

Well, I'm not sure, I'm looking to do a collection against one of my virtual environments managed by a vCenter appliance.

Hello it is as jddias suggests the only difference is when selecting the vcenter server select vcenter appliance rather than vcenter windows.

Still the same issue.  When attempting a collection on the vCenter appliance, job fails with following message:  Failure in one or more data classes at the Agent.
