How do you do a collection on a vCenter Appliance, as opposed to a Windows vCenter Server?
OK, then you follow the same process for a Windows vCenter and vCenter Appliance. You need to set up a Managing Agent on a Windows server, that will do the collection for your virtual environment.

The managing agent talks to the vSphere API, so the setup is the same.

Still the same issue. When attempting a collection on the vCenter appliance, job fails with following message: Failure in one or more data classes at the Agent.
Did you ever get an answer for this?
