Hi,
I would like to check compliance for virtual environment. I saw some templates on pictures demonstrating VCM (such as "VMware vSphere 4.0 Security Hardening Guide" on VCM product page on VMware website - see attachment) but my installation has none of them. So my question is do I have to create my own templates from the scratch or are there any "out of the box" templates to apply for VE. I am using vCM 5.6.
Thanks.
For templates to be imported you will need to run the Content Wizard from the VCM Collector Host. Be sure to only import what you need as they can be quite resource hungry.
For the Content Wizard to work you need a VCM + Compliance Template License.
Hi,
you need to import the templates from the VCM console. There is a Wizard for that.
Yves
I cannot import anything because none of the templates is available. Could you explain how to do that?
thanks
Hi,
do you have a proper License in place? Can the VCM collector connect to the VCM download site?
Yves
Yes, I have a proper license and have internet access from both VCM server and VCM collector. I don't understad what you mean saying VCM download site? My VCM doesn't download anything from internet.
