Allocation Based

Hi All,

I have problem when trying to generate report with Allocation Based Billing Policy, why the value always" zero", but when i tried to used Billing policy with words containing "Usage", the value always appear. Can you tell me how to show up the value with billing policy Allocation Based.

Hudan,

  Are you trying to generate the report against VC hierarchy or vCD hierarchy? For vCD hierarchy Chargeback automatically syncs allocation values from vCD, whereas for VC hierarchy you need to set the same manually for its entities.

Hello - have actually set the allocation values against each entity in your hierarchy?  When you go to the Manage Hierarchy tab, if you right-click an entity you will see "Set Allocation Units".  Have you set these?

I haven't do this, what do you mean each entity in my hierarchy? Is it each vm in VCenter hierarchy?

if i have 1000 vm, should i do this one by one?

In vCD hierarchy Chargeback automatically syncs allocation values from vCD.

In VC hierarchy you need to set the same manually for its entities, this can also be done with the help of scripts.
