Hi,
I want to add vcenter server to charge back but it is stated that default Databas URL is : IP address\SQLEXP_VIM
and default database name is :VIM_VCDB
in picture that is attached: vcotest@sol.local is my user that have access to vcenter .
Now I should insert above information (default DB) to chargeback. but I have problem. WHY?

Could I know if anyone is able to connect Chargeback to a vcenter 5.1 that uses the embeded postgresql database as backend database? Or does Chargeback support the remote access to that embeded postgresql database? The available 'Database type', when adding a vcenter to Chargeback, is SQL Server and Oracle, so I'm kind of suspecting whether postgresql is supported or not. Thanks for your info / help.
No support for Postgres at this time. If you're using the vCenter virtual appliance you will need to configure it for a Oracle external DB.
I had already spent almost a day trying to get that working and was getting to suspect that it may even not be supported. Thanks very for your info. BTW, this question might not be for this thread -- for external DB on a vcenter virtual aplicance 5.1, Oracle is the only one supported, correct?
I feel your pain I, too, got my lab all set up with vCVA only to realize afterward that I would have to switch to the Windows server.
Yes, only Oracle DB for external.
ok. at least my 'pain' stops from here on ...... till running accross whatever the next one (hope not). Thanks very much again.
