Hi Andrew68000 ,
(Disclaimer: I do NOT work at/for VMware, but I am certified as a VCP-DCV since VCP4-DCV and I'm currently a VCP6.5-DCV)
First of all, let me say that I believe that you should have posted this message of yours as a post (new "Discussion") in the "VCP: VMware Certified Professional" forum and NOT as a "Document".
If you already have an active/non-expired Cisco Cert (CCNA, CCNP or CCIE), I believe that you are NOT required to attend a training course. I'm saying this based on the "Certification Path" for the "if you hold a Cisco Certification" case that is listed at the "VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization 2019" web page, namely the following :
1. Gain experience with NSX technologies
2. Submit proof that you hold an Active/Non-Expired Cisco CCNA, CCNP or CCIE certification
3. Pass One of the Foundation exams
vSphere 6 Foundations (This exam retired on August 30, 2019)
vSphere 6.5 Foundations (This exam retired on August 30, 2019)
VMware vSphere 6.7 Foundations Exam 2019 Schedule Exam >
105 MINUTES 65 QUESTIONS $125
4. Pass the Professional Network Virtualization Exam
VMware Certified Professional 6 - Network Virtualization 6.2 Exam Schedule Exam >
120 Minutes 77 Questions $250
I hope this helps!
