Is it recommended to share the same connection servers for internal and external (with UAG in front fro external traffic) access? Or not to share the same connection servers(replicas)

Couldn't find any design documents on the best practice for internal and external traffic and the implications if we choose any of that 2 options

Would be grateful if anyone can share your thoughts or related documents.
