Installing the Linux version of Workstation on a Linux Distro

Hi,

Unsure if this is the right place to get some some advice.

I've encountered some difficulties while trying to install VMware Workstation 16.2.3. 19376536 x86_64.

Typically, the linux world likes to use wget and uses the https address to download.  However, it's not possible with the version mentioned above.  The download address is https://www.vmware.com/go/getworkstation-linux and if you add the file name it would be:  https://www.vmware.com/go/getworkstation-linux/VMware-Workstation-Full-16.2.3-19376536.x86_64.bundle

However, you've can't download the application.  You get the typical 403: forbidden message.

Additionally, if you download the file by conventional means.  You get:  application/octet-stream; charset=binary when you use file -i

Because the bundle doesn't have a magic number.

In sum, this application is not as friendly as it should be, nor as compatible as advertised.

Could anyone provide an alternate opinion on these issues.

Thanks,
