same here on OpenSuse 13.2 and WMware Workstation 11.1 (the new update from Feb 2015)
After a while KDE becomes unusable slow. Everything else works fine, just the GUI slows down dramatically.
I tried hundered of things and spent a lot of time in this issue,
tried different grafic cards, different drivers, change hard drives ...
but no luck.
VMware , please please help us !!!!!!
