From the commad line - run "esxtop" and use the "d" (disk option). You'll be able to see the IOPS then. DB VMware Communities Moderator
My guess is that ESX doesn't play well with other installs on the same disk. Reformat and try the install then. DB VMware Communities Moderator
Try uninstalling/removing the plug-in and then reinstall it again. I remember seeing this during the beta. DB VMware Communities Moderator

You could also look at the VDI solution for ESX. DB
This is normal with MSDE. If you were running SQL and you were seing this - maybe a problem. Basically - your ID can't or doesn't have the rights to query status of DB. DB

I would cut the vm back to 1 vCPU - downgrade the ms kernel to uniprocessor and see what happens. DB
