Just a recomended practice so you do not do anything to your existing lun's. During the install there wont be any chance of wiping out data. After the re-install of 3.5 you can plug them back in and you will see all the lun's as you did before. I am happy with 3.5 70356. No real issues. Other than vcb problems. High IO vm's lockup during snapshotting process. But vm ware will be reasing a host patch and vcb upgrade soon.

I do 500 gig lun's. This gives me enough space to put quite a few 20 gig vm's on. With room for snapshots to take place. And it's not too large that IO bottlenecks would become a factor.
