Hi Alexander123, You need to pass the VCP6.5-DCV exam to be able to take the VCAP6.5-DCV. See FAQ here: VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6.5 - Data Center Virtualization Design Can I use my VCP6-DCV as a pre-requisite for the VCAP6.5-DCV Design certification? No, the VCP needs to be the same version as the VCAP you are pursuing. Since this is a new version of the certification, with new objectives, skills, and knowledge required, the VCP6.5-DCV is required for new candidates to earn the VCAP6.5-DCV Design Alternatively you could pass the VCAP6-DCV exam and then do the VCAP 6.5 exam (see existing candidates tab above) but note that passing the VCAP 6.5 exam wouldn’t automatically give you the VCP6.5 certification, you still need to take that exam to upgrade the VCP certification. Hope this helps.

As far as I know you aren't certified until you meet all the requirements, so at the point you complete the course you would become certified and that would be your certification date (not the date you took the first exam). Think that is the case but hopefully someone can confirm that 100% Once you are certified the date will show on your transcript so you'll know for sure.

‌Not sure I fully understand your question but as far as I know once a certification has expired you will no longer be able to gain that certification. If however, you already hold that certification it will be valid for 2 years and will be extended if you take another VCP exam. For example my VCP 3/4 still show as active/current in my transcript despite them not being current - so I think the key is just to make sure you recertify by taking another VCP exam within that 2 year window. Hope that answers your question.
