It's always recommended to keep all the connection server and agents on the same version. VMware supports mixed versions only during an upgrade phase. Having said that, a higher version of connection server usually works, but not a good idea to keep the agents on a higher version and connection servers lower. Also keep in mind that if you keep mixed versions of connection server and agent and hit any unrelated issues, VMware will first ask you to upgrade the versions to match with each other.
You can turn off CBRC during the full clone pool creation in Horizon console. Uncheck the option 'Use View Storage Accelerator' in the Advanced Storage Settings.
