I'm afraid you can't do this for web access, it has no access to your registry at the point of login.

For run time settings, you should use the client group policy file included in the server installation, which can be found in C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware VDM\Server\ADM, to configure the client features for a machine. If you're referring to install-time settings, I think the following example should cover all the options you need. To install only the core functionality (i.e no USB, no shortcuts, similar to what webaccess will do) to c:\VDM, run the following: client-install.exe /S /V"/qn ADDLOCAL=Core DESKTOP_SHORTCUT=0 QUICKLAUNCH_SHORTCUT=0 STARTMENU_SHORTCUT=0 INSTALLDIR=c:\VDM"

By default the client will redirect audio through RDP. RDP implements a virtual device, and it is made the default for the VM while the session is connected, this device has no recording functionality as it's one way. You need to turn off RDP's built in audio redirection. VDM comes bundled with a group policy file for this, within the server install, by default in: C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware VDM\Server\ADM To save you time, you can directly set the registry setting for your client to try it out: HKCU\Software\Policies\VMware, Inc.\VMware VDM\Client\RDP Settings (REG_DWORD)AudioRedirectionMode = 1 0 = Redirect to client (default) 1 = Play in VM (needed for VoIP USB Support) 2 = "Disable audio"

The VDM client uses it's own registry settings for the connection, you can find the group policy file defining these within the server install under the ADM directory. In the case of drive redirection, this file contains: >KEYNAME "Software\Policies\VMware, Inc.\VMware VDM\Client\RDP Settings" >POLICY !!RedirectDrives > VALUENAME "RedirectDrives" > VALUEON true > VALUEOFF false >END POLICY i.e. creating 'HKCU\Software\Policies\VMware, Inc.\VMware VDM\Client\RDP Settings\RedirectDrives' with the string value of 'false' will give the behaviour you want. Edit: For clarity, in a default VDM Connection Server install, you will find the group policy file at C:\Program Files\VMware\VMware VDM\Server\ADM\vdm_client.adm
