I'm almost positive that installing the agent on a physical machine is not supported. I'm not even sure how you would select it as a desktop in VDM since your only allowed to browse machines that are located in VirtualCenter. Check out the link below on page 24 it talks about the agent. If you found this or any other post helpful please consider the use of the Helpfull/Correct buttons to award points

There isn't any kind if intergration with AD so the computer account will not be deleted. In my experience and I could be wrong on this but it bases the next VM it creates on the last VM in the numbering scheme. So if you had VM's called VM1 - VM20 and you deleted VM 4 then the next one created would be VM21 and thus have a new computer account/SID. That is my experience and I welcome someone to correct me if I'm wrong. If you found this or any other post helpful please consider the use of the Helpfull/Correct buttons to award points

There are several things that can cause this message. I would check to make sure the VDM agent is installed correctly, check to make sure you don't have any type of firewall blocking communication, and check to make sure no one is already logged into that machine. You will also need to be utilizing Virtual Center as it is a requirement for VDM 2.0.. We were able to successfully use Windows XP SP2 in a pooled environment and have machines drop from a template using the Client customization piece. The only difference is we didn't use the Client Customization to join the domain, instead we ran a piece of code on first login that did it. Sorry that I can't be of more assistance.
