Hi DaveyDaveDav, Thanks for using Workstation. This is an issue we are tracking internally. There is an easy fix you can have a try: Go to both your WS server and your dad's machine, check config.ini under: C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware Workstation Change the authd client port number from 903 to 902. e.g. authd.client.port = "902" Then reboot both machines and have a try.
Thanks for using Workstation. How about create a script with: vmrun -T ws start "c:\my VMs\myVM.vmx" And add the script to Windows Task Scheduler to run at startup.
Thanks for using Workstation. I believe this one will fix your issue. Unable to connect to the MKS: Login (username/password) incorrect
That's printer passthrough technology, any printer installed on Mac host can be used in Windows VM with VMware tools installed. The printer name contains #:1 or #:2 suffix.

That's cool. I am glad to hear that news. Then can you mark the correct answer and let this thread closed? Thanks.

>> i have 3 VM's which were created in Fusion 3.1, ive upgraded my MAC to mountain lion (10.8.1), will upgrading vmware allow me to gain access to my vm's? The answer is yes, but make sure you shut down the VM correctly. (Do not force shutdown) And as woody said, you can backup the VM and have a try on the 30 days trail. >>Do I upgrade to Fusion 5 as thats the only option i can see available or do i need to some how upgrade to 4.1.3? Upgrade to Fusion 5 is prefered. With 49.99 to Fusion 5 Profression from Fusion 3 standard is a good deal. If you upgrade to Fusion 4, you may pay another time to upgrade in the future. Why don't use the latest software directly with the same money?
Force shut down the Win 7, reboot your Mac and retry?

Ok, I finally find a way: When fusion notify you something it will automatically add to Notification center. e.g. I install a Fusion and there is not Fusion item in NC, then I create a blank VM, new a DOS without using iso, then poweron the VM there will be a No guest os found notification popup. Now go back to NC, you will find Fusion is there.
When you run the Fusion, right click the Fusion icon on the dock, go to Options -> Show in Finder, then you will locate it. To uninstall it, first quit the Fusion, and then move it to the trash.

If you are running on lion, it's easy. You can swipe between your main desktop and Full screen app by swipe gesture on trackpad or magic mouse or control + left/right arrow on keyboard. If you are still using SL, I think you can exit the full screen first and then minimize it. A little fussy, but I think it's quick.

First How to show all the hidden on the Mac: Using a simple Terminal command, you can work with all the files on your machine from the Finder. Open Terminal, type this command, and press Enter: defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES If you tire of the dimmed folders and other downsides, just open Terminal and repeat the command, but change YES to NO, then press Return again. You’ll need to relaunch the Finder again, but when you do, everything will be back to normal. Second: You have two library folder on your Mac, first is from root /library, say your mac harddisk named Macintosh HD, click it, there will be a Library and there is also a user folder, which contains the second library folder in it, the path is /Users/patrick/Library Which one did you look at? you should find the file in the first one /Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/isoimages/windows.iso Also you can copy the iso file to your desktop. Open Terminal, type this command: cd /Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/isoimages cp windows.iso ~/Desktop/ When you find it, mount the iso by CD/DVD on VM settings.

I am not sure, but please try Restore Defaults in Keyboard and Mouse Key Mappings, especially i see there is a Right Alt key mapping.
Status bar is changed to tool bar. See screenshot.
