You have to edit the VMX file directly.

If you set it to 'share with my mac' and 'auto' and then reboot the guest it should just work - assuming you installed the tools in the guest OS (sometimes that doesn't happen automatically).
I think the OP was referring to the numeric keypad - and that should just work.

Let me put in a plug here and strongly recommend using the method in the unofficial guide to get the ISO.  Neither of the 'official' mechanisms really work well - the VHDX is a insider build that expires, and the uuddump option won't build an ISO for the latest releases on a Mac.  Technogeezer's utility is basically doing the same thing that Parallels does behind the scenes, and grabs the bits directly from microsoft.

Highly recommended to use the tech preview instead of Fusion 13 for Windows ARM at this point. One nuance, I still would suggest using the process in the unofficial guide to get the ISO to install it - neither of the official means are really good.  One gives you a build that expires, and the other doesn't work on Macs for the current windows releases.
Let me add one more question - what format is the external drive?  If it's not APFS, reformat it that way and then try again.
Yep, it changed in later OS versions.  As I recall, Fusion dropped multi-monitor support.
Maybe. If you have an M1 (ARM) mac, then no, you can't.  If you're on an intel machine, read on: You can virtualize 10.6.8 (not 10.6.3) Server (not client) edition, but there may be issues getting ... See more...

The hardest thing is getting a hold of 10.6.8 Server install media - it's no longer available from Apple, and most internet sites are sketchy. Honestly, its vastly past time to move on from any solution that requires 10.6.8.  If you have the option to upgrade the other software, that's the better option.

If you read the release notes, official guide, and unofficial guide you'll see that the vmware tools have only limited functionality right now.  Specifically, the graphics drivers do not include 3d acceleration. We hope/expect to have updated tools sometime soon, best guess is that we'll get an update after WWDC, so figure late June or early July for full support.

Unfortunately, sleeping the host doesn't reliably sleep the guest.  The best option is to change the 'prevent sleep when screen blanks' and set the machine to not sleep. With the screen off, the power use is negligible.

Ok, so obviously Fusion and Apple won't support that system. That said, even with supported 10gb thunderbolt connectors, Fusion's virtual network is limited to 1GB.  There's no way around that.  The only option is to bypass the fusion network stack and have the USB connector connected to the guest OS itself. 10g on workstations is still somewhat rare.  I'm sure it's on their radar, but given all the other things in the queue, wouldn't hold my breath for it soon.
For the guest OS?  No.  You'd have to configure the OS to autologin.

ARRRGH, it's SO frustrating that this stupid forum software won't let you edit replies...ignore the last two.   The unoffiical guide to Fusion, posted in the documents section of this forum, has instructions that have worked for thousands of people. So if there's something on your setup that's not working, it's unique to your setup. shift-fn-F10 should work - unless you have switched the keyboard preferences on the host, or are using an external keyboard that's not configured properly.

If, as I presume, you're running Fusion 13, and search the forum, you'll find another thread (on the first page, 8 posts below yours, at the moment) with other users reporting the same thing. In that thread, a VMWare employee confirmed it's a regression. The workaround is to regress to Version 12 (if you can).
Oh, to extend.  The root cause seems to be enrollment in the windows insider program (which the vhdx file automatically is).  So if you go the ISO route, just do a regular install and don't enroll.
