Why don't you create new virtual machine and install additional domain controller? It is much simpler than P2V of existing domain controller. You just need to transfer fsmo roles afterwards.
Probably what you say it is true but following that process of improvement with VMware license we should receive hardware upgrade or new hardware to support web client.

I was doing P2V of SQL cluster with attached SAN last week. I always received errors when I was trying to P2V server with SAN disks. What I did is the following. P2V of local disks. Cleanup after P2V, vmtools, uninstall HP software. I created dummy vSwitch without uplink so OS doesn't complain about disconnected nic. Copy of SAN data to another VM from same subnet to new disks. I copied and attached disks with SAN content to P2V VM. I changed disks signature so cluster resources could start.
Really great release Mike!

Unfortunately sometimes I am forced to perform some tasks in C# client because it is much faster than through web client. I forced myself to learn and use web client knowing that C# one will disappear. Sometimes you just can't stand how slow things are in web client. I am using fast lan connection, I use Chrome and flash cache optimization but still - sloooow.

Hi, If you are sure that VUM is removed than you can manually remove plugin from vCenter. Follow this KB: Removing unwanted plug-ins from vCenter Server (1025360)

In my opinion you have several things to consider. Disadvantages of having SQL together with SQL: Increased resources usage for vCenter Server More complex administration for Database Administrators You can’t cluster SQL if it is installed on vCenter Server Advantages of having SQL together with vCenter: decreased dependancy on network communication between vCenter and SQL operational costs decreases due to server consolidation I also recommend to watch great video from VMworld 2013 which explains a bit more about topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUFg2iuBjXE
No, they will be not used.
What kind of edition of Windows Server 2008 R2 do you have? If it is standard then it has limit of 4 CPU. Windows Server 2008 R2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
You can add later on additional identity sources into your SSO.Add a vCenter Single Sign On Identity Source
Hi, For the beginning it is ok. You will be limited with RAM of course but you will be able to easily build environment with 2 ESXi server, vCenter and other components.
