I made and attempt to convert a virtual machine running windows server 2008 r2 over to the ESXi platform which has worked for many virtual machines up until this point. I ran the VMware converter from inside the VM and pointed it to the ESXi host. The conversion completed but upon starting it, I get a “boot manager error, 0xc0000225”. That is the error I run into when trying to install the ESXi onto a Dell Optiplex 755 (core 2 duo). I thought maybe it was a bad image so I re-burned it and ran into the same issue. Also I ran across someone who recommended to change the SATA mode to AHCI. Tried that as well, no luck. any suggegstions as to why this is happening would be helpful.
