I did a hot clone using VMware Converter Standalone version 6.2. As for reconfiguring, how can I reconfigure if the localMachine did not fully convert?

Hmm I grabbed the ISO "VMware-VIMSetup-all-5.5.0-6520252-20170901-update03" but it seemed like it wanted to install it on my laptop and not upgrade the in place appliance

I want to upgrade our single ESXi host to the newest version of ESXi possible but I’ve only done this with newer Dell servers that have the customized images for the specific model. They made it very easy but in this case I cannot do that as this is an older server (Dell PE2900) so there is no ESXi customized image on their site. What’s the newest version I can upgrade to on that box (ESXi and vCenter Server Appliance) Do I need to change anything with the license if I can upgrade to 6.x? How do I know the correct drivers will be included in the newer version? Is there a compatibility checker? What’s my install order again? I think it was to upgrade Vcenter server appliance first, the ESXi. I know the vpshere client has been depreciated in the newer version Thanks in advance! Here is the current version:

I have another issue I need to workout. I'm using this test VM to create a an on-prem Windows server that sync's with another server hosted within Azure via VPN. The VM needs to have two NIC's accessible, one for LAN and one Public IP. The server that ESXi is hosted on (Poweredge R230) has two NICs. NIC#1 is currently plugged into my switch. NIC#2 is going to be plugged into a miniswitch that comes off my FIOS ONT so I can program one of our usable WAN IP's into there but I don't know where to plug that IP info into? During the setup of the ESXi host, I gave the host a LAN IP for management (192.168.75.20) but where can I program NIC#2 and how can I make both NIC's available in the Server 2012 R2 VM? Thanks in advance for the help!!

I have a test ESXi 6.5 box running a single Windows server VM (2012 R2) for now and I want it to have internet access but not an IP from my LAN (192.168.75.xxx) if possible. I believe it's "Bridged" mode in VMware workstation. I see under "Networking" I have "vSwitch0" and I can edit those settings but not sure what to edit in order to accomplish that.

I am trying to setup an Dell PE R230 as a test box but hit a bump in the road. I have ESXi 6.5 installed on a USB flash drive already (Dell customized ISO) and I was going through the steps to setup the Datastore but after I selected the Hard drive (there is only 1 drive, no RAID) it failed with the screen below. The hard drive can be formatted as I don't need anything that exists on it. I guess it's Dell hidden system partitions as no OS has ever been installed on there. How can I fix? Call "HostStorageSystem.ComputeDiskPartitionInfo" for object "storageSystem" on ESXi "192.168.75.20" failed. Disk partitioning format change is not supported. Disk must be having non-vmware partitions.
Actually upon checking, it's listed under dell's site but only up to ESXi 5.5 Update 3 so I guess 6.0 is not supported. Are the updates cumulative so I can just install the most recent one?
Yea I checked and there is is no Dell ISO for this model. How can I see if we can upgrade our key? There is no option for that when I am looking at it on the VMware site under my license keys...

Wanted to post here to see if upgrading to 6.0 is a possibility. We're running ESXi 5.5.0 2403361 on a Dell Poweredge 2900. We originally started with 5.1. After logging in to check our product license keys I see that we only have one license for "vCenter Server 5 Essentials" and one for "vSphere 5 Essentials Plus" and I know we need to upgrade the key for 6.0 but not sure how to do that. If we can upgrade our key to 6.0, Can I used the ISO directly from VMware on my Dell PE2900? I think we did that when we originally set it up but I forget. Want to be sure it has the drivers included.

I'm trying to delete our older vCenter 5.5 VM (orphaned) via the web client but it's not letting me. We're using 6.5 now so 5.5 is not needed anymore and I can use the disk space. If I right click onto it it gives me different options that the rest of the VM's. The only option I see to delete is if I right click onto it, choose "All vCenter Orchestrator plugin actions" and select "Shut down and delete virtual machine". my problem is when I select that, it bring me to a gray window and nothing happens. How can I permanently delete that VM?? Here is what is get when I choose shutdown and delete VM from under "All vCenter Orchestrator plugin actions"
