i just saw this maybe its still helpfull. ftp://ftp.integrien.com/VCOPS-Third_Party_Tool_Adapters/Microsoft-SCOM/Microsoft-SCOM-Adapter-Install-and-Config-Guide.pdf page 24 Add a Top-Level Resource Kind By default, the MS SCOM adapter recognizes the Microsoft.Windows.Computer and Microsoft.SQLServer.DBEngine top-level resource kinds. You can configure additional top-level resource kinds. Prerequisites Install the MS SCOM adapter. See Chapter 2, “Installing the Microsoft SCOM Adapter,” on page 13. Procedure 1 Run the discoverySQL query for your database type. The query returns all MS SCOM entities, their types, and identifiers. 2 Find the entity to become a top-level resource kind and make a note of the value in the RESKIND column. 3 Edit the scom.properties file and add the value from the RESKIND column to the comma-separated list in the topLevelResourceKinds property. 4 Save your changes and close the scom.properties file.

Hello, First of all im totaly new to the fabric world. Today i deployed vfabric hyperic. I have it up and running. I have a couple of issues: 1) the time is off. By 2 hours to be precise. I have set my time zone correctly in the vapp? 2) everything in the HQ shows with AM/PM while i would like to see it in 24hours format. For this problem i changed the following file localhost:/opt/hyperic/server-5.7.1-EE/hq-engine/hq-server/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/classes # ApplicationResources.properties to: unit.format.epoch-millis=dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm aaa unit.format.epoch-millis.dateonly=dd/MM/yyyy unit.format.epoch-millis.timeonly=HH:mm aaa 3) For me its normale to use a comma so i changed unit.format.percentage=#.###,00 but after a reboot i dont see the changes in the HQ. So what am i doing wrong? Thanks!

we are talking about non statefull rules, so firewall rules have nothing to do with it. What im used to with ACL's on switch level (this is what vmware is trying to do) it will stop processing rules when it hits a rule "says" something about the rule. So if i allow ICMP and what to disallow everything else i first create a rule which allows icmp and blocks everything else. With some switch brands you dont even have to create a drop all rule. It will drop everything when there is no matching rule.
So i was so pleased to see that vsphere 5.5 would support acl's on dvs. Then i started implementing it. so i got a portgroup with 2 vms in it: they have the following ip: x.x.x.236 and x.x.x... See more...

Only the .254 works (ofcourse.) But then i create the next rule: action: drop tarffic direction: egress protocol is any source ip is any destination ip is any after applying, i cant ping the .254 anymore? what am i doing wrong? regards
