Hi I am trying to push my kickstart server to the next level and to perform a real zero touch installation so far so good but i came across couple of tasks that i haven't find a proper way to perform 1) configure esxi swap datastore 2) join esxi to domain 3) join esxi to distributed switch since its kickstart installation i guess it should be only command line , perl scripts, or python any ideas?

the Beauty about vmware is that you could limit every parameter you wish for network you could do vlans for cpu and memory you could set limits per machine i would consider if i were you to have a resource pool for each project in case of potential growth if you are cloning one server multiple times you should rename each copy give different ip address, sysprep if you wish to join them to domain and the rest you should check for each client for instance we had mcafee antivirua on our servers and we discovered that in order to have a seperate guid we should delete a registry key on each clone iis has users that has the original name of the server iis was first install on good luck

hi i got about 400 vm's and in about 8 the following error eccours vmware service.exe application error the instruction at " 0x0040ab80" referenced memory at "0x00000000" the memory could not be read the funny thing is that most of the 400 are clone of the same machine and it only happend in 8 the second thing is that it hapens on a new install from scrach machine
