Hi Check your vCenter and SQL server ( if you have it installed in same machine with vCenter) services on installed machine and see if they up and running. or if your SQL is on other machine then first ping SQL machine and second go to see if DSN can see SQL machine or not. ping AD as well to see if ADAM and AD connection works fine. and funny thing is some times restarting machine make it magic and everything work again. I had a VM vCenter that not working and i just restarting it and voila it back online again and never goes down till now. There are planty of opensource software that can be used for managing vmware or other virtualization through web. some of them are commercial or personal. here is link to site that provide few of them. look for one that include vmware as supported platform. http://www.linux-kvm.org/page/Management_Tools I used openQRM and  CloudStack and OpenNode and they are good . PS : As i know for using vsphere web client you sould have a cCenter that joined to an Active Directory. i did'nt find a way to dont install active directory and and just the vcenter in workgroup. i always get error when i try to install SSO and vCenter inventory and vCenter. Im using Veeam and it is really fast and better than vDR. vDr is good for very small office and it has few limitation like size and how many vm per vDR that why i use Veeam for my company. you should take look and some configuration depend on your design and enviroment. Veeam is simpler than vDR in my idea.

Download Redmdev from http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-15187 and remove any attached NIC from your VM and boot the VM after boot attached the ISO you downloaded and run the scripts as it says from where you downloaded the ISO. Important part is when this tool remove the hidden drive that even not showed in device manger you should go to the Plug & Play iin your device manager and remove any HP driver in it. i had a problem like this but little difference, My server boot up but it take 45 min to boot and after that when user try to connect to server it takes while when they can logged in and my services ar toooooo slow. i remove all hidden drive with this tool and remove 2 HP driver from Plug & Play to solve it. best Regards --Armin--

I think you had to go to your server Bios and check the time and date in the bios first. i had the problem but first i correct the time in my HP server Bios and it works. after that check the NTP in your esxi and configure it correctly and check the firewall in your esxi. After all of this it should be working even if you reboot your esxi server. For you template problem i suggest to see this tutorial by Trainsignal http://www.trainsignal.com/blog/vmware-template-creation And VMware KB from This Link Knowledge base It should solve your problem, If you have any other problem let me know. Best Regards --Armin--

Hi everyone, I have the same problems but in different way. I can access my console from internal network using web client and vSphere Client and the DNS is configured correctly. But i have a static IP that i use it for connecting to my vCenter and Web Client from outside (we don't have domain for them yet or any DNS for outside connection), but when i try to open VM console it gives me the exact error. My vCenter is on windows 2008 R2 and it is VM and all of my servers joined to my domian. Is there any way to fix it ? Best Regards --Armin--

Hi Everyone, I had a server with windows 2k3 and 1GB Ram and 2 Cpu each have 2 core and i converted it with vmware converter to new esxi 5 update 1. At first it boot fast and work fine but after 2 days we had a problem wit our ups and power and my server goes down. after it backs up i started my vm, and it tooks too long to boot. after VM boot when my user try to log in to my active directory which is in the VM it took some time to logged in and after that some of user can see my map drive some not. I try to see hidden drive to delete unwanted drive but there isn't any drive that gray out or not being used after convert. try and remove HP Software but still nothing. some times i can login to server  via RDP some times not, Its smae for consol view from vsphere client.. VM system spec : 2 vCPU with 2 Core 2 GB of Ram exact HDD from server that i converted 1 NIC E1000 I try every possible way to fix it but no luck. Please tell me what should i do? Best Regards -Armin-
