HI I was recently moving a blade server between the enclosures and after that I lost access to 2 of shares on NFS mount. Networking is fine - confirmed I can still see the shares but they shows status inactive The question is: I want to re-add stroage - Network File System to map this again. The only concern is that share contains the data. I understand that remounting it does not affect the data. Am I correct saying that ? Thanks Mariusz
Hi Does anybody have Realtek RTL8169SC network card and was able to get this working on vSphere?

The main difference between PE1950 and PE1900 is that PE1950 is rack mounted, Pe1900 is a box, but with an option that could be rack mounted. The componnets on those servers are the same, make sure that you have the latest BIOS 2.5.0, BMC (Baseboard Managment Controller) fiirmware 2.37 and the latest firmware for PERC 5i or PERC6i RAID controller, there are max 2 x CPU, 2 embedded Broadcom NICs Good luck Onsik

MD3000 is SAS connected SAN box, maximum 4 hosts, MD3000i is iSCSI connected SAN box, so you can have more hosts connected You manage those arrays from MDSM software installed on Windows machine - and you have option that host share the same virtual disk (LUNs) or not. Bassically if you have host set up in cluster you can have shared VMs (LUNs), if you have 2 host which are not in the cluster and have access to the same LUNs and try to write at the same time to the same block that will cause data corruption. Hope, that helps

PERC 5i - internal SAS/SATA RAID controller PERC 5e - external SAS/SATA RAID controller (in Dell used for connecting MD1000 or MD3000) PERC 5i is very similar to PERC 6i (newer generation). The difference is that PERC 6i has memory integrated on the card and supports additionally RAID 6 and 60. I have installed ESX 4 on PE2950 with PERC 5i (2 disk in RAID1) without any problems. Good luck Onsik
