hellow guys  My ibm server is x3550 m3 .this server is considered an old machine .the highest vesion of esxi that can be installed on my server is esxi 5.5 . I got it from IBM customized ISOs for esxi . i installed it and works just fine . anyway i am using it for lap testing not production yet .it is 60 days trail . now i am wondering which version of oracle Linux is supported in esxi host to install . because i did not want to download any oracle linux version before knowing the suitable version for esxi 5.5 . as you know they are big iso files to download . (my internet connection is  super super super fast) in my country we still living in stone ages .

Sorryscott28tt  bro i did not see your post . No i did not create any datastore in Raid 5 yet !! You guys mean i have to create it on that disk .? but i cannot go with 7 or 6 because the highest esxi version supports for my ibm server model x3550 m3 is esxi 5.5 only. that's why i found in vmware documentation and ibm website . i will not using in for production nowadays, it is just a lap testing to understand how to use it and how it is working .  Anyway thank u guys both . i will try that hope everything fine .

hello everyone  I am still working on my test lap for our business before  production .(public wifi hotspot using mikrotik ) i have ibm x3550 m3 server . after 2 days of searching and working finally found the supported version of esxi for this server. this server has 4 SAS disks   ,I did RAID configuration as recommended for esxi (i searched the web alot ) this is my raids config from webbios on ibm server : Raid 0 ===> disk 0      ( for esxi os and  Mikrotik and user manager etc) Raid 5 ===>disk 1,2,3   (for data mirroring  ) i installed esxi on disk disk 0 . everything was fine and i was able to connect the esxi server from the client . then i checked storage to see my the disks config :      first screen shows me 2 disks ========> ok i guess that's normal 2nd screen when i click on first disk i can see the the device details ,but when i click on second disk it does not show me details as you can see in this image ... .  i dont know if everything is normal or something wrong  .. am not an expert . all what i need to do just upgrading from windows environment to esxi environment to keep our clients and customers subscriptions and information safe  . i did not create any VM yet . i just want to know if everything correct or any suggestion for my demand  then i will proceed ... for testing ....?
