Hi, Anyone able to help clear up if/how vROPS handles slack space for vSAN. We are currently running 8.3 version of vROPS and 6.6.1 of vSAN. Is this a manual policy change for the datastores and assigning it to any cluster built on vSAN or how does it work? Many Thanks.

Pretty sure that in 8.1.1 it is still only possible to connect one Log Insight instance into vROPS - is that correct? In the event that I want I'm monitoring multiple vCenters with one vRops and say two Log Insight instances - is the correct procedure to forward event from one log insight to the other and pair that one with vROPS? Is there any issues with those forwarded logs appearing in vROPS then? Thanks,
Hi - Thanks for the comment Rick. Actually - looks like it is vSOM - that comes with vROPS standard I think? VMware vSphere with Operations Management Enterprise Plus for vRealize Operations

I'm not seeing any options to setup service discovery in vROPS 8.0 I expect to be able to modify my existing cloud account to add in Service Discovery - but there is no tab for that - just the on for Account Information and another for vSAN. On the Home dashboard I don't see the option select "Manage Applications > Discover Services" . The application is installed in Administration > Solutions > Repository Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong or what is missing? Thanks

Is it possible to have a list rotate, i.e.: I want a list of all my clusters, selecting one will have an impact on a different part of the screen - showing host information for example. I would like this to wait about a minute or two and then rotate onto the next cluster and so on. Anyone ever do anything like that? Thanks,

Are there differences in the way vROPS does rightsizing between version 6.3 and 6.7 that anyone is aware of? I have a report for my environment that shows a VM recommendation of changing from having 32GB to 30GB using vROPS 6.3, however when running the report in vROPS 6.7 that recommendation has changed to 16GB. Thanks.

Is it possible to get a value for a group of machines and use it on a view for a different set of machines? What I'm trying to do is replicate the report here: Cluster SiteA-SQLCluster01 # Hosts 8 Host Model PowerEdge R630 # VMs 105 VM Consolidation Ratio (per host) 13.13 # DR VMs 28 VM Consolidation Ratio (incl. Hi, weird one here - we are licensed for about 50 percent of our VMware estate in vROPS. We have used license groups to specify the clusters we want to target, and set the other ones to ignore. The issue is we can still see all objects in vROPS and are worried this is going to fill up our available space pretty quickly as well as muddying the waters for our reporting. What is the best way to deal with this? Would it be navigating to Administration -> Configuration -> Inventory Explorer and deleting out the unwanted clusters from in there? Or will that work? Thanks,

Thanks for your effort on this. Confession - I'm not great with supermetrics - when i use your line of: (${this, metric=cpu|vcpus_allocated_on_all_vms})/(${this, metric=cpu|corecount_provisioned}-(${this, metric=cpu|corecount_provisioned}*(${this, metric=configuration|dasConfig|admissionControlPolicy|cpuFailoverResourcesPercent}/100))) what function do I use in front of this - and why do i have to use a function? Also - is it possible to call multiple supermetrics in one supermetric?

Not sure if I'm going about this the right way. Using vROPS 6.7 we would like to create a dashboard showing the vCPU to pCPU ratio but taking into account N+1 redundancy on the clusters. What is the easiest approach when doing this? Following on from that - we have two sites with matching clusters per site. So we have a SAP cluster with 8 hosts per site. We would also like to read the amount of CPU in use in the opposite site and see if it fits in with our DR criteria, Again - what would be the best way of going about this - creating a load of supermetrics to read all the values - or is there a better way with policies? Thanks!
I'm just trying to figure out the sizing requirements for a new instance of vROPS. The storage requirements - is that based off standard policy or assuming you will be monitoring every items?

I've setup a few iDRAC's to log to a new Log Insight instance - the issue I'm having is that although all hosts are setup the exact same way there are some that are not logging to Log insight. Even when I hit the Test option and put in something like FAN1000 it notifies me that the test was a success - but I'm seeing nothing in Log Insight. The other issue is that the hosts that are logging are reporting a hostname of the iDRAC network address - can this be set to the iDRAC DNS name (which I've set under iDRAC Settings --> Common Settings) Thanks!
