Looks like I was on the wrong UUID.  Doh.  Man enough to admit my mistake! Now I need to find out why I can see the P420i but not hte atatched D2600.

Had a storm locally and both UPS's separately serving my HP D2600 redundant power supplies tanked. I rebooted everything to have one VM guest complain about a missing .VMDK file. My datastore on the D2600 has folders for each of the guests, which contain the bootable "disk" images.  All of these are fine.  There is an additional folder that I kept the disk image for my file server main share drive.  Sure enough, that folder is gone.  Verified through vSphere client and Putty.  Help??
Just bought another myself for my other server.  Now I have one that works and one that doesn't.

Ok, weird.  Finally made time for a reboot, and now the invalid guests are back! Looking at the folder /etc/vmware/hostd/ it looks like it has been "restored"?  My backup file, vmInventory.xml.bak (from the edit earlier) is gone. The file, vmInventory.xml, looks exactly like it did before I did my edits. Any ideas?!?!?
Restart not needed.  /etc/init.d/hostd restart /etc/init.d/vpxa restart All is cool now, thank you virtuallysekar!
Trying that.  Made a copy, renamed original, then uploaded the modified. Didn't take with a browser refresh. Will reboot server as soon as I can and report back. Thanks!

Sad that this issue has languished on this site so long.  I too am "afflicted".  I have had my ML150 G6 for a while.  VMware Server 1.0 and 2.0 worked great, NIC was running a 1Gbps under Windows 2003 and later 2008. I decided to go to ESXi 5.0 and debugging slow file copies I find that the NIC is locked to 100Mbps.  Changing it manually (vShpere or Console) turns the card off.  Switch lights even go dead. Definitely a a driver/OS problem, since this only happened after changing OS's.  (I did use the HP branded ESXi ISO)
Did find an issue with the E200 card though. Seems I can make only one array via the BIOS interface. ;-( Guess I have to go back to Sever or Server 2, sux.
I believe the E200 is a "real" controller. It has its own co-processor and battery backed up cache module.
Looks like even true ESX has this limit. Who would have thunk. Guess I get multiple LUNs and span them with a volume. Thanks!!

Just installed ESXi 4.0 on my new ML150. I have ESXi installed on a SATA drive connected to the motherboard. I also have (8) 1.5TB SATA drives connected to the SmartArray E200 as one RAID5 array. In the vSphere Client, I can see the drive that ESXi is installed on. I also can see the E200 controller. Problem is, when I go to "add storage", there are no drives/LUNs listed. Really frustrating that ESXi is being this difficult. I am getting to the point where I might just give up and go back to Server... ;-( Help?
When I try "Add Storage", I see no "disks" to use. HP ML150 with E200 controller.
