Hi Gurus, I am running ESXi 6.5 with 2 ESXi Host in a cluster. I deleted the Distributed switch from the vcenter. In the vcenter under Network, it shows only 2 standard switches after deleting vDS. However, when I log in to the ESXi host it shows Distributed switches even in the CLI it shows the Distributed switches. I am not sure what I did wrong or did I missed any steps. Any help is highly appreciated. Any CLI command to delete the vDS will be helpful. Attached are snippets for reference. I need to create a new setup of vDS hence want to remove the old vDS.     Thanks Anjan

Thanks for the reply daphnissov I am planning to use VMWare native Backup like using clone to Template and later introduce Veeam to the environment. Thanks Anjan

Hi Gurus, In my environment, I have 3 ESXi and multiple VM's. I have few queries related to backups. Some of the VM's are Thick Provisioned and some of the VM's are thin provisioned. I want to do a backup of the VMs and move them to an NFS server as part of the Backup. Below are my queries. The VM  which is thick provisioned has a 500 GB Datastore and it has data around 100GB in it. If I want to take a full backup of the VM do the size of the NFS share needs to be the same as the data store or it can be the same as the amount of data in the datastore i:e 100 GB? There is another VM that is thin provisioned but has a 500 GB Datastore presented to it and has around 100 GB data in it. If I take a backup of the VM can I use a 120GB NFS share to do the backup of the VM? Thanks all in advance for all the help Thanks Anjan

Rebooted the ESXi host. Still, the issue persists. It seems some issues with Networking. Looking into it Thanks Anjan

Hi Gurus, I have a 2 node ESXi Host Cluster managed by vcenter. I am running ESXi 6.5 U2. Both the ESXi is managed by vcenter and both the ESXi is showing as green in the vcenter console. Both the ESXi host has a similar configuration. When I try to access one of the ESXi hosts using WebGUI/SSH it is not accessible, however, the host is pingable. The Lockdown is disabled on both the host.      I also tried to restart the SSH, ESXi SHell, DCUI Daemon from the Vcenter console on the ESXi host having the issue but still, the issue is not resolved. Any suggestion or guidance by the Gurus is highly appreciated. Thanks AJ

Hi Experts, I have a client environment where the client is using ESX 6.0 and Vcenter 6.0. Our Team is divided into Monitoring Team and Incident Team. The Monitoring Team uses SolarWinds to monitor all the VM's. However, we have few super Critical servers even a sec downtime is not possible and the monitoring team is not allowed to log in to vsphere client or web client. Is there a way I can do an integration and project those critical servers in a browser as Running or stopped. Can I use PowerShell or VMware PowerShell? Any Guidance will be highly appreciated. Thanks Anjan
