Trying to get mine working with gmail smtp, believe it's all set correctly but never receive the messages.  Anyone get this working correctly?
Thanks bewe for confirming you have the same issue.  Anyone else care to try it?

Curious problem.  vCenter 6.7u1 (and u2), when I browse a datastore, go into a vm folder and try to download the vmware.log for that particular vm it directs me to the wrong host.  It's all web based of course so careful on speculation.  It is consistent though as it tries to go to the same (wrong) host for any/every VM I try.  Funny thing is, when you click download it redirects you to a specific host that it passes the download through.  Since the VM doesn't live on that host you get an error, if you just go to the address bar and change the hostname to the correct host it downloads it with no issue.  HTML5 or Flex has the same result. I've tried 2 different clusters, one on u1 and one on u2, same issue.  Kinda of a odd problem to google for verbiage.  Any else have this issue?

Here is the real "fix".  VMware Knowledge Base   PLEASE make sure you set it on ALL virtual nics, they use vmotion as the example but it has to be set on all of them. VMware refuses to say this is workaround, option 2 (on the distributed switch) is the only thing that'd work for us.  The ridiculous part is after you modify the profile, apply it to a host and then update the profile from that same host it sets it all back.  So if you happen to update a profile from a host and forget to change it on the host profile manually, you destroy the networking on any host you apply it to.
Marin_J, can you elaborate a bit on  what you did to resolve and or where you found this?
Anyone ever find a fix for this?  We have this same issue on 6.7u1.  Needless to say I was initially thrilled to find this thread but then nobody has found a fix

I'd love to be able to just switch but they do make a good product.  I just don't understand why they are so bound and determined to be tone deaf about this.  Not only does it suck but it's taken YEARS to replace.  Is it some team of 2 guys that do it after hours?  To top it all off they've felt the need to move everything around.  Again, they need a GOOD web client but it should be a secondary tool, not the primary.  I emailed Pat Gelsinger several years ago which actually got me a response from his "office" and a guy reached out to me but it was just canned BS.  Reminds me of Microsoft deciding a start button was no longer of use, at least they listened...

I still contend that a good web client is necessary and useful but the C# client is imperative to actual administrator duties.  Quickly logging in from anywhere to do something, giving a link to a developer so they can log in and manipulate their VM's and that sort of thing is great for the web client but if you have 100's of hosts that you're trying to manage, what a nightmare.  Flex or HTML5.  The C# is critical. The worst part is when you have a dog and pony with VMware reps and they talk it all up or act like it's the first they've heard of people not liking the web client.   Clearly never having had to actually manage an environment with it and use it for sales demos and whatnot.  Just keep both, geesh
Not sure who marked that as the correct answer.  Ended up being a DNS issue, got that corrected and the plugin is working

Running VCSA 6.7 and Veeam B&R 9.5(3a).  I never had the plugin installed before.  I can see it within the Veeam enterprise manager as being installed  I can see all 3 plugins in the https://vcenter/mob The thing I notice is within "shownInSolutionManager" they are set to 'false'.  I see no way of editing this and not sure if this is why I'm not seeing them.  I've of course checked the plugin section within administrator in Vcenter and don't see them as an option at all. Anyone have a similar experience?
Hmm ok thanks, maybe I'm thinking of earlier versions that allowed root login

Need some guidance, I can't seem to login as root to my Vcenter appliance 6.7.  I can log into the VAMI just fine but not vcenter.  It isn't on the domain but I do have a .local group.  I'm tried root@localos  as the username but it's a no go.  While logged in with a .local login I can see the localos\root account and it says it isn't locked or expired.  I thought maybe I was bitten by the bug so many got caught by and went though the proceedure to reset the root account found here VMware Knowledge Base All that went fine but when I try to log into the flex or HTML5 front end I get the below message.  I've tried root@localos and localos\root as the username. It's my understanding once you have another identity source configured you must specific localos on login.  It's amazing how little info there is about logging in as root to the appliance other than the VAMI Unable to login because you do not have permission on any vCenter Server systems connected to this client

Nice to see the vsphere web client revolt is still going strong.  No question the HTML5 version is much better than the POS flash based one but it STILL isn't an administrator level management client.  Great to give a developer so they can access a handful of VM's but is complete crap for actually administering your entire company.  So sick of VMware ignoring us and simply reassuring us we'll love the next version. Anyone know how to get the wanna be social media forum to quit showing my real name?  What a PITA
