Hello Guys We have configured Stretched Cluster, which we have tested to turn off an entire datacenter and the VMs were moved to the Secondary Site but at the time of testing the VMs were restarted and it took two minutes to complete the entire process. I have a question if it is possible to have zero downtime of the VMs if one of the sites goes down and the VMs must be moved to the active site, I will appreciate if you can clarify the doubt Thank you

Good night Could you please clarify the following question for me? When Edge Clusters are created in VCF, a minimum of two 2 edges must be added but it is not clear to me if one Edge should go with the BGP values of DC1 and the second Edge with the BGP values of DC2. The above is correct, now I can create 4 Edges (2 for each Datacenter) The parameters I have are the following: BGP NSX-T: 65001 BGP Switch Peer ASN: 65101 (ToR AZ1) Primary Tier 0 Uplink Interface: 192.168.47.2-3/24 BGP Peer IP: 192.168.47.254 Secondary Tier 0 Uplink Interface: 192.168.48.2-3/24 BGP Peer IP: 192.168.48.254 BGP Switch Peer ASN: 65102 (Tor AZ2) Primary Tier 0 Uplink Interface: 192.168.47.130-131/24 BGP Peer IP: 192.168.47.253 Secondary Tier 0 Uplink Interface: 192.168.48.130-131/24 BGP Peer IP: 192.168.48.253 Thanks for your comments Best Regards SAN

Hello, Kindly allow me to understand your scenario by answering the below: - VCF is stretched from VSAN perspective so far correct? Yeah that's right - What is your use case from networking perspective between the two sites? A/A ? A/P ? Activate/Activate - What is your expectation about the failure scenario from Site A to Site B from time perspective? Let the VMs move and be able to maintain IP addressing   Regards

Hello Guys Sorry for the question, because I have confusion regarding Configure BGP in the Tier-0 Gateway for Availability Zone 2. I have configured VCF and it is already stretched with two datacenters, which are operational. Now I am going through the process of Configure BGP in the Tier-0 Gateway for Availability Zone 2, but I have doubts in the process indicated in https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-Foundation/5.0/vcf-admin/GUID-E2A6DCE6-EC70-4583-AB45-5504C7850651.html   On the NSX Manager main navigation bar, click Networking. In the navigation pane, click Tier-0 gateways. Select the gateway and from the ellipsis menu, click Edit. Add the uplink interfaces to the NSX Edge nodes.             Expand BGP and in the BGP neighbors section, click 2.             In the Set BGP neighbors dialog box, click Add BGP neighbor and configure the following settings In Sources address, it asks me for the interfaces of AZ2, but it only shows me the interfaces of AZ1 IPs: 192.168.47.2 192.168.47.3 192.168.48.2 192.168.48.3 NSX ASN is 65000 ASN Switch AZ1: 65101 ASN Switch AZ2: 65102 192.168.47.130 192.168.47.131 192.168.48.130 192.168.48.131 I don't know if it's correct, or I should do some process before. Thanks for your comments

Hello Guys In a VCF configuration with Stretched cluster, how many Edge Clusters are required as a minimum? In datacenter A, the ASN of the ToR Switch is ASN 65101 and in datacenter B, The ASN is 65102 When I create the Edge Clusters with the configuration of Datacenter A with ASN 65101 they are created without problems with 2 edges that are required at least. When I configure 4 Edge nodes, where I configure 2 edge for ASN 65101 they have no problems, but the 2 Edge for ASN 65102 that corresponds to the ASN of datacenter B, gives the error attached in the image So I don't know if it is correct to create 4 Edge cluster, or with 2 it is correct. It is necessary to create the two edges of datacenter B, if not necessary, what happens if Datacenter A goes down, as the edge node works, to exit through the ASN of Datacenter 2. I appreciate your help, because I am doing a laboratory and it is not clear to me how it works in Stretched Cluster. Thank you Regards

Hello Guys I would like to ask for your help for clarification. I am installing a VCF in my works for POC. I have already configured the platform, but I had a question regarding the VRLCM deploy I would like to know what Region-A refers to This is the local network that will be used for vRealize Log Insight and vRealize Operations Remote collector or cloud proxies I am not clear what values should be entered in these fields that it asks for: - Networks - Subnet mask - Default Gateway - MTU - VLANs In X-Region, Network asks me for an IP, and I don't know if this IP is that of VRLCM or what IP it is Thanks in advance for your help. Thank you

Hello Thanks for your comment. I have only one doubt. In excel declare the range 10.0.244.1 to 10.0.244.8 for Edge Host Overlay but in Edge Cluster it requests Edge TEP 1 CIDR and Edge TEP 2 CIDR and this is my question. I must enter an IP from the range 10.0.244.1 to 10.0.244.8 that I defined in excel or it can be any IP from the range 10.0.244.0/24  Thanks for your comment and help.   Regards SAN

Thanks for your comments The VCF as I have 4 nodes for my laboratory, I will use Management and Compute. Now if in the vcf-ems-deployment document I declare Profile-1 with only two interfaces vmnic0 and vmnic1, I can later through API create another VDS with interfaces vmnic2 and vmnic3 for VM traffic, or it is recommended to reinstall VCF with 4 interfaces where Profile3 is for Host Overlay traffic   Regards

Good afternoon everyone I did the deployment of a VCF 4.5 lab, which installed without problems and the node had 2 interfaces available. Today I added two new interfaces to be able to create VDS only for virtual machines and their respective vlans. I have not been able to find information on how to add the two new interfaces to the platform with a new VDS. They will have information on how to execute this task of adding two new interfaces, creating a new VDS and creating the vlans in VCF. I am doing these Laboratories because I want to do the VCF course in September and I want to know how the platform works and how to do these tasks, which I have read are very different from what I have done with vCenter. Thanks for your help and advice.
Thanks fpr your comment.

Hello Expert   I am doing a VCF 4.5 laboratory which has already been implemented and is working without problems. If I have had confusion regarding the creation of Edge Cluster to create AVN and install VRLCM. If you can help me check if the configuration that I am doing of the edge Cluster is correct, I would really appreciate it. They configured me a core which does not support BGP so there is OSPF between the core and the TOR. They told me that the Tor ASN is 65005 and 65000 with password Lab01##2023, from the Switch downstream This is where I have the first confusion, because I have the doubt if in Tier0 Routing Type, I select EBGP and if there is, I should put a different ASN to 65000 and 65005, for example 65101 since this ASN does not exist in any configuration. Then in the TIER-0 Uplink, enter the UPLINK vlan 1647, but in the Tier-0 Uplink Interface IP, I put a segment IP and then in BGP Peer IP (CIDR) I put the GW IP of vlan 1647 with the ASN 65000 and the BGP Peer ASN password. In the two previous points is where I have the confusion, if what I entered in the Edge Cluster configuration is correct- Thank you very much in advance, and I attached some screenshots of what was configured.   Regards    Sebastian

Hello Guys In the environment vCenter 6.5, have 05 resources pool with VM. In a resource pool called QA I need to be able to restrict a user group that when they login they only see their Resource Pool and can not see the other resources pool, nor the VMs that are outside the Resource Pool Assigned, but if you can create VM, Assign Network, Assign Disks, Clone a VM that is inside your Resource Pool. I created a new Role called User-QA and added the following: Virtual Machine -> Inventory -> Create from existing Virtual Machine -> Inventory -> Create new Virtual Machine -> Inventory -> Remove Virtual Machine -> Configuration -> Add existing disk Virtual Machine -> Configuration -> Add new disk Virtual Machine -> Configuration -> Add or remove device Network -> Assign network Datastore -> Allocate space Resource -> Assign virtual machine to resource pool The problem I have is that every time the user enters, the users can see all the resource pool of the cluster and VMs that are in vCenter, but can not turn it off, etc. Only do the functions that are higher I would like to know if it is possible to restrict the group so that it only sees the QA Resource Pool and can only do the mentioned tasks. In the Role I unchecked Child Propagation, but later it does not let me create VM for example in the Resource Pool by not have permission over Datastore. I will appreciate your help in this regard. Thank you Sebastian Antunez N.

Hello Guys I'm doing a lab for vCloud Director 9.1 and have doubts how to use certificates wildcard. My lab have 3 nodes with vcenter 6.5, and have 2 cell with Load Balanced in NSX. When access to url of LB (https://vcloudlb.lab.local/cloud) access without problem to vCloud Portal. In the installation in the Primary Cell I running: keytool -keystore certificates.ks -alias http -storepass Passw0rd -keypass Passw0rd -storetype JCEKS -genkeypair -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -validity 3650 -dname "CN=vcloudlb.lab.local, OU=LAB, O=LAB, L=Providencia S=Providencia C=CO" -ext "san=dns:vcloudlb.lab.local,dns:vcloudlb,ip:192.168.112.190" keytool -keystore certificates.ks -alias consoleproxy -storepass Passw0rd -keypass Passw0rd -storetype JCEKS -genkeypair -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -validity 3650 -dname "CN=vcloudplb.lab.local, OU=LAB, O=LAB, L=Providencia S=Providencia C=CO" -ext "san=dns:vcloudplb.lab.local,dns:vcloudplb,ip:192.168.112.191" Post I run: keytool -keystore certificates.ks -storetype JCEKS -storepass Passw0rd -certreq -alias http -file http.csr keytool -keystore certificates.ks -storetype JCEKS -storepass Passw0rd -certreq -alias consoleproxy -file consoleproxy.csr Now If I wanted to publish my laboratory for outside in order to publish services and I would like to use Wildcard * .lab.local for example from godaddy I need to send the http.crt and consoleproxy.crt? I read from this page https://bakingclouds.com/installing-wildcard-signed-ssl-certificates-in-vcloud-director-9-1/  but I have confusion as it should be the use of wildcard. thanks for your help Sebastian
