Finally got it solved by exporting the image from ESXi and importing it into 2nd datastore. Surprisingly it did not complain during the export process regarding low space. Thank you all!

Thanks for sharing that link! In the mean time I was doing "Clone > Clone to Virtual Machine" option and I experienced another server is not responding. Reboot of vCenter fixed it. It could be that Clone process is putting too much stress on the server. Looking the diagram I'm confused with how on arrow starts at ESXi as 902/TCP,UDP and then it changes to 5988/TCP on vCenter. Same goes for arrow that starts on vCenter 8000/TCP then it changes to 902?TCP,UDP and at the end to 80/TCP. What specific ports do I need open on vCenter? To my knowledge all ports are open on the remote ESXi.
Howdy and thanks for the reply! Somehow I saw somewhere it needed only UDP but now I've changed to 902 TCP/UDP and also opened TCP 443. I had to reboot vCenter Server and now it shows that its...

Howdy and thanks for the reply! Somehow I saw somewhere it needed only UDP but now I've changed to 902 TCP/UDP and also opened TCP 443. I had to reboot vCenter Server and now it shows that its connected (fingers crossed). Those should be only ports need to keep ESXi's connected to vCenter?

Hello, I'm testing 2 remote ESXi (OVH network) with vCenter Server behind pfSense router at home. I'm getting errors below and from my research it has to do with ports being closed. So I opened UDP 902 (The default port that the vCenter Server system uses to send data to managed hosts.) but it did not help. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

During install I select custom install and create another partition for extra free space https://prnt.sc/n7kapw In ESXi I'm able to add 3 disks as extent https://prnt.sc/n7kdcc which makes this size of datastore https://prnt.sc/n7kcat but the last disk (4th) that has ESXi installed https://prnt.sc/n7ke1v gives me this and error when I try to use free space https://prnt.sc/n7ker9

Are you referring to "Consolidate disks" under "Snapshots" ? Before running above I followed this guide Shrink guest on hosted platform - VI-Toolkit in Ubuntu I ran cat /dev/zero > zero.fill;sync;sleep 1;sync;rm -f zero.fill and waited to complete. Then, after almost 5hrs of running "Consolidate disks" task option for this particular VM it shows this https://prnt.sc/n6py7t which is an improvement but df --human in Ubuntu shows that out of 400GB only 176GB is used?

Hello, Basically I have few VMs and one of them is Ubuntu 18.04 and its filled over its provisioned space (not sure even how it got to this point). Here's what ESXi shows https://prnt.sc/n67gdk and this is what Ubuntu shows http://prntscr.com/n67gvl I've tried this https://blog.destephen.com/wordpress/?p=753 but after few hours nothing got freed up and ended up with less space on ESXi host about 60GBs less. https://prnt.sc/n67hro https://prnt.sc/n67hyk Any help would be much appreciated!

Hello, My ISP has a data cap so I had to rent server and they have ESXi 6.5 and I have 4 VMs mostly for testing and 1 that is hosting 1 website and community forum. I would like to setup backup just in case something goes wrong I can restore and Backblaze B2 offers the most affordable solution $0.005/GByte/Month (half of one penny). In my research I found that Vertical Backup has integrated option but since the server is out of my home it would not be considered Personal License but Commercial because they would think I'm running a business. My question is are there any other options out there? I came across another one XSIBackup @ $115 for what it seems a one time fee and its out of what I was planning to spend but it does not mention anything about Backblaze B2. TIA
