I was also having this exact issue with the same version of ESXi and Chrome. What I found to be the issue was due to me pressing the ENTER key on my keyboard during the login process. If I instead clicked the Log In button after entering the username and password, it would load the page just fine. Give that a shot and see if that helps you (or anyone else)
