@TheBobkin. Thanks. But as I know vSAN ESA is not limited to ready nodes if you want to enable vSAN8 in your environment it is asking which type of vSAN want to use OSA/ESA . So ESA is not limited to readynoed about second question and disk's type want to know Does it suitable to buy just mixed intensive disk for storage pool when we are using ESA ? (As I said before that in OSA recommendation is to have two types of disk write intensive for cache tier and mixed intensive disks for capacity tier)

As we know when we are implementing vSAN OSA we have two ties and type of disk in capacity tier is difference with cache that is betted to use write intensive disk with high endurance on cache tier and mix disk for capacity tier . Now want to know for design and implement vSAN ESA mode as we have just one storage pool . Can we use one type of disks with same size ? such as Mixed use for all disks
As we know a new step as stage has been added to vlcm which will reside esxi updates on the host before apply . Now want to know where can find esxi update file on host after do stage?

As I find out there is a direct relation between the size of cache tier and disk's endurance for cache tier according to attach pic when we are using mixed use with DWPD =3 , we have to select large disk capacity 2.4T but when we are using optane ssd as it has DWPD 30 we can use low capacity 300G . Would you please tell me why we need low disk capacity when we are using high endurance disks ?

Would you please help me about about follow questions : 1- I have bough a bunch of NVMe disks for vSAN before introduce ESA . Currently I have 10G NIC cards on my hosts and my switch support just 10G . As you said we must use 25G NIC cards to run ESA . Now does your mean I cannot get good performance in my environment when using OSA because you mentioned we need 25G NIC cards for NVMe disks ? 2- You said we cannot run ESA when using 10G NICs . Does it your mean this is mandatory or VMware recommendation ? For example when we want to run ESA it will check our environment to detect if we are using 25G nics or not ?

(for example 5*3TB NVME ) 2- on the other hand does it mandatory to use 25G Nic ? even when we are not using this bandwidth in our environment ? 3- Does it your mean we cannot use ESA with 10G nic ?

Actually I want to apply some configuration on hosts and some configurations on VMS when we choose 1 and enter host name follow parameters should apply on specific host : $clusterName= Read-Host "Please enter your cluster_name" "There are follow Hosts in your cluster:" Get-VMHost | Format-Table Name "Please choose an Option to apply security configurations:" "1- Select Host" "2- Apply on All ESXi Host" $options= Read-Host "Enter your Number 1/2" if ( 1 -eq $options ) { $hostname= read-host "Please enter your hostname" Write-Output "esxi-7.account-auto-unlock-time" Get-VMHost $hostname | Get-AdvancedSetting Security.AccountUnlockTime | Set-AdvancedSetting -Value 900 } After apply above changes on esxi host need to apply some configuration parameters on VMs on that host so I used this Get-Cluster -Name $clusterName | Get-VM | ForEach-Object -Process { Get-VMHost $hostname | New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.keepOld -Value '10' -Confirm:$false -Force Get-VMHost $hostname | New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name RemoteDisplay.maxConnections -Value '1' -Confirm:$false -Force Get-VMHost $hostname | New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.rotateSize -Value '2048000' -Confirm:$false -Force } Now the other option is 2 when the user choose it means want to apply configuration on all hosts and VMS so use this one to apply changes on all hosts : if ( 2 -eq $options ) { Write-Output "6- esxi-7.account-auto-unlock-time" | Green Get-VMHost | Get-AdvancedSetting Security.AccountUnlockTime | Set-AdvancedSetting -Value 900 and apply follow changes on all vms Get-Cluster -Name $clusterName | Get-VM | ForEach-Object -Process { New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.keepOld -Value '10' -Confirm:$false -Force New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name RemoteDisplay.maxConnections -Value '1' -Confirm:$false -Force New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.rotateSize -Value '2048000' -Confirm:$false -Force so finally wrote this one : $clusterName= Read-Host "Please enter your cluster_name" "There are follow Hosts in your cluster:" Get-VMHost | Format-Table Name "Please choose an Option to apply security configurations:" "1- Select Host" "2- Apply on All ESXi Host" $options= Read-Host "Enter your Number 1/2" if ( 1 -eq $options ) { $hostname= read-host "Please enter your hostname" Write-Output "esxi-7.account-auto-unlock-time" Get-VMHost $hostname | Get-AdvancedSetting Security.AccountUnlockTime | Set-AdvancedSetting -Value 900 } Get-Cluster -Name $clusterName | Get-VM | ForEach-Object -Process { Get-VMHost $hostname | New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.keepOld -Value '10' -Confirm:$false -Force Get-VMHost $hostname | New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name RemoteDisplay.maxConnections -Value '1' -Confirm:$false -Force Get-VMHost $hostname | New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.rotateSize -Value '2048000' -Confirm:$false -Force } if ( 2 -eq $options ) { Write-Output "6- esxi-7.account-auto-unlock-time" | Green Get-VMHost | Get-AdvancedSetting Security.AccountUnlockTime | Set-AdvancedSetting -Value 900 Get-Cluster -Name $clusterName | Get-VM | ForEach-Object -Process { New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.keepOld -Value '10' -Confirm:$false -Force New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name RemoteDisplay.maxConnections -Value '1' -Confirm:$false -Force New-AdvancedSetting -Entity $_ -Name log.rotateSize -Value '2048000' -Confirm:$false -Force } } else { Write-Output "Insert correct number" } What is the issue ?
