Yes, I'm using exit codes and they can do the job, but there are also more ways for a lifecycle stage or a package to fail. Any "unhandled" exits or anything that returns a non-zero exit will trigger a failure and roll the whole build back. I was hoping for a mechanism--possibly at the blueprint level--where one of those stages or packages could be marked to indicate the build or destroy stage should continue regardless.

When adding software components to a machine blueprint, assuming no dependencies have been configured for those components, is there a custom property or some other way to mark one of those components as non-blocking in case any of its lifecycle steps fail? Or a way to mark any one of those lifecycle steps (in combination of or exclusive to the entire component as non-blocking) as non-blocking? For example, there could be multiple software components added to a machine blueprint. Some of them are absolutely necessary, while others not so much. I'm looking for a way to mark either an entire component, or a lifecycle stage as "best effort" so if it fails for any reason, the build continues and simply raises a warning.

I am aware of KB 2123145 in which it states it is not possible to run a trend view report on custom groups, however I'm trying to find another way that it might be possible to show a 30 day trend line of a given metric on virtual machines without specifying every VM manually. For example, say I have organized VMs into vSphere folders based on a certain grouping. I want to be able to run a report against that folder and have it show a certain metric and the trend line, but for every child object (VM) of that folder. I'm not looking to summarize an entire group with a trend line, since that would the job of a super metric. No matter what I try, I cannot come up with a way of getting this information from a group without picking and choosing VMs manually to show their trend line. Has anyone come up with a way around this? I would think this is a fairly common thing to want, yet there doesn't appear to be a readily available and easy way to accomplish this task.

Not sure if anyone has run across this in VSAN 6.2, but essentially the Capacity Overview portlet in the web client is totally whacked out and not displaying utilized space properly. All used space it claims is just overhead even though there are multiple VMs running just fine on it, and all health checks pass except for driver/controller firmware compatibility. This was upgraded from VSAN 6.1, and when this was noticed, VSAN was wiped, turned off, and rebuilt yet still displays this odd issue.

This discussion is a continuation of the issue noted here:  https://communities.vmware.com/thread/535249 I've noticed that after applying the fix provided by Ilian, and applying the vRO node to an agent group, it appears the wrong file is getting modified on the vRO side. Instead of modifying /var/lib/loginsight-agent/liagent.ini it is actually modifying /var/lib/loginsight-agent/liagent-effective.ini. I'm not sure if this is due to the behavior of the agent that's installed there (3.0.0.3415686), or something else. It will still forward logs, but this isn't, as far as I know, the correct or best way to do it.

Ok, changing the sudoers file by hand does fix the issue and does not seem to require a cycling of either individual services, or the appliance as a whole. I see a success message in the Control Center, and confirm by looking at the liagent.ini configuration file. vco:~ # cat /etc/liagent.ini [server] hostname = loginsight.test.local proto = cfapi port = 9000 [logging] [storage]

I just tested this on a new deploy of 7.0.1, and the option works as expected here and I get the same return with sudo -l -U vco as you posted. So it's apparent the permissions aren't getting set on the agent config script during an upgrade from 7.0 to 7.0.1.
