Jelan can you make sure these checklist are satisfied The datastore is not managed by Storage DRS. The datastore is not part of a datastore cluster. The datastore is not used for vSphere HA heartbeating. Storage I/O control is disabled for this datastore. Can you try login into the esxi and run lsof | grep datastore_name there should be no files locked if you are still unable to unmount then there should be some process lock holds the datastore on esxi level. rebooot the esxi and try unmount once again after the reboot try again still if get the same error then there is no problem with the esxi we need to troubleshoot on the vcenter Disable the VSA plug-in from the vSphere Web Client and try to unmount the datastoreonce unmounted then enable the plugin.. if we face the same error after the plugin disable then try restart the appliance or the vcenter then try to unmount it again..!! lets give a try cheers!!!!

azlans27 Yes, We need to register the vsphere replication with the center. i have attached the interoperability matrix with this. you need to install the 6.5.1 version of vsphere replication appliance. https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php#interop&509=&1= only thing there should be the communication between the source and the destination. no need to worry about the license because its free comes with vsphere license.

1.Make one Isolated ESI and deploy new vcenter 6.5 /6.7 2.share the existing old datastore the esxi host 3.share the vlans as well 4.unregister the vm on the 5.5 then browse datastore find the .vmx file register This is the simple way. If not deploy vCenter Replication appliance in both vcenter configure replication appliance do the initial sync once sync completed, during the maintence window shut down the machine do final sync and do cutover In the second method storage we can use different data store but vlan should be same.
