I want to build a query in Log Insight (Cloud) to alert me when a cluster exceeds a certain amount of hosts. I can't seem to find the right field to use.

How does ESXi treat NTP Server List order? Site 1 - NTPServer1, NTPServer2, ESXi1 Site 2 - NTPServer3, NTPServer4, ESXi2 From the above, if I populated ESXi1 with an NTP server list in this order - NTPServer3, NTPServer4, NTPServer1, NTPServer2, will ESXi1 take the first NTP server in the list? In this case NTPServer3 from Site 2? Trying to validate a config for a customer.

Is there a specified impact to when iSCSI port binding is used with the Route Based on IP hash LB policy? The client currently has this configuration and I'm trying to persuade them it's not correct. Both iSCSI vmk's in the same subnet as is the SAN.

I'm trying to find the official statement from VMware that states iSCSI port binding + Route Based on IP Hash is an unsupported configuration. vSphere 6.7 + vSS OR vDS

jburen Oh, we had to change the vSwitch load balancing policy from originating virtual port to IP hash. But that is related to the physical switch configuration. At what stage did you switch the Load balancing policy on the vSS? I am assuming before you added vmnic0 to it?

jburen Originally I didn't understand step 8 - "Move vmnic0 to the previous port-channel (on the physical switch)" But after reading it a few times, it made sense. One other question, if we decided to remove EtherChannel (port-channel) altogether, is the process just to simply remove the EtherChannel (port-channel)? In place, trunk ports on the physical switch ports and using a better LB policy like 'Route based on physical NIC load' with NIOC on the vDS.

jburen Duncan's post states to remove the etherchannel configuration completely in a single step Create Distributed vSwitch Create dvPortgroups Remove  all the ports from the etherchannel configuration on the physical switch Change vSwitch load balancing from “IP Hash” to “Virtual Port ID” Remove vmnic from vSwitch0 Add vmnic to dvSwitch0 Move virtual machines to dvSwitch0 port group I have seen it done your way. Is there a definitive answer on which way is correct?
Found a nice article on this; Migrating to a VDS switch when using etherchannels | Yellow Bricks

The response I got from the Networks guys was "port-channel with mode on for core switch".

Just an update on this. Bypassed 7.5 altogether and done a successful Enterprise deployment of 7.6 (allowing the wizard to perform the join-VA stage). It seems the workaround documented in KB58708 only applies IF you configure the settings BEFORE yoiu start the installation wizard. Just an FYI, the settings from the KB are in 7.6 by default.
Still seeing the issue.
This KB is found at the MyVMware download page for vRA 7.5

This error is documented when downloading the software from the MyVMware portal in https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/58708 GSS tweaked the settings in that article and increased to 420 for setenv-tools and 4200 for vcac-config.properties which didn't help. The VAMI shows both Cafe Nodes 2 & 3 as replicas.

Fix was as per below. oops I believe you need to “save” previous certificates (vRA Appliance certificate and Web Certificate - I don’t remember the name of the button. I think you generate the cert, and select Keep Existing). Just after that the Next button in Manager Service Certificate will be able to click. I had the same problem. It is almost a little joke hehe.
I'm having an issue where the Next button is grayed out for a vRA 7.5 install at the "Manager Service Certificate" stage. The certificate imports fine and I download the generated CSR.
